Brewood’s first girls football team in 47 years!

Since Brewood Juniors Football Club was established in 1975 it has provided a fun, safe environment for boys and girls to play football, but always within male dominated teams and leagues.

In September 2022 that changed, as our first all girls team “Brewood Lionesses” were formed, and they joined Staffordshire Girls and Ladies Football League.

Inspired by England’s Lionesses win at the Euros 2022, all of the girls who are currently U8’s, play with a smile on their face and love competing each Saturday against other girls of the same age. Some have already spent years at Brewood football matches, watching their older brothers from the side lines. Now they get to wear the yellow and blue shirt!!

The girls made a beautiful wreath at Christmas with their coach.
